2009 Road Programs Awarded to Wiest Paving and Shields Paving. The Township Board of Supervisors awarded the following road projects that will make up the 2009 Road Paving Program:
Wiest Paving and Asphalt Supply, Butler, was awarded a Road Capital Project to complete asphalt milling, stormwater inlet repairs and resurfacing on the following roadways:
¨ Jason Drive ¨ Ruth Lane ¨ Rolling Mills Drive
Shields Paving, Valencia, was awarded the Resurfacing Program and will work on the following locations throughout the 2009 construction season:
¨ Bowers Road: Overbrook Road to Steiner Bridge Road ¨ Central Drive: Route 8 to North Drive (see Capital Project below) ¨ Kozy Corner Road: Logan Road to Clinton Township Line ¨ List Hill Road: Sheldon Road to Adams Township Line ¨ Logan Road: Glade Mills Road (Route 228) to Kozy Corner Road ¨ McFann Road: Forsythe Road to Route 8 ¨ Mekis Road: East Cruikshank Road to Glade Mills Road (Route 228) ¨ Parks Road/Old Route 8 South: Route 228 to Route 8 ¨ State Road: Richland Township Line to Ridge Drive, Valley Drive to Parks Road
2009 Capital Project: Central Drive Stream Crossing Replacement (not awarded)
¨ The Board of Supervisors have also budgeted to replace the existing stream crossing running under Central Drive. As of June 1st, the Project has not been advertized or awarded; but the Township expects to do so once we receive clearance from the PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
Since Central Drive is the only access to the Nursery Park Subdivision, the Project will entail “re-lining” the existing culvert with a new pipe and filling the gap between the two pipes (1-2 inches) with concrete, install stormwater inlets and drainage between Route 8 and the crossing and resurfacing the roadway once complete.

June 30th: Road work to begin on Rolling Mills Drive, Jason Drive, and Ruth Lane. Anticipate some delays.
Middlesex Mad Dash: The Third Annual Event was a smashing success. 116 runners in all; 95 took the 5K challenge and 21 kids manhandled the half-mile loop through the Community Park.
